The Pont du Gard is listed by UNESCO and as Grand Site de France. It is one of the most spectacular constructions inherited from the Roman Empire. The 49 metres height and 3 levels of overlaid arches make it the world’s highest Roman aqueduct. Besides these enormous dimensions, it is also impressive for its incredible state of conservation. The unspoiled nature of the Gardon valley offers an exceptional setting to this gem of human engineering. A few nights per summer, a sound and light show will magnify this site by adding a touch of magic.
