The Gaujac estate, less than 20 km from Alès, is ideal for a relaxing stay between comfort and nature. The campsite located on the banks of the river has a varied range of accommodation: bungalows and mobile homes without sanitary facilities, family mobile homes of different capacities, and wooden chalets for a charming holiday in the Cévennes. With areas ranging from 15 to 29 m2, the accommodation at Domaine de Gaujac can accommodate 3 to 6 people. As a couple, with family or friends, you will enjoy beautiful private terraces with garden furniture.
An authentic village in the southern Cévennes, Saint-Jean-du-Gard is the starting point for more than 150 km of trails, which, like Robert Louis Stevenson in his day, is usually walked with a donkey. Among the main monuments of the small town are the castle of Saint-Jean, the old silk mill called the Red House, the old bridge, the clock tower, or the Stevenson fountain. The station is the starting point of the picturesque Cévennes tourist steam train that links Saint-Jean-du-Gard to Anduze. The village hosts two very lively weekly markets.
Saint-Jean-du-Gard is located 19 km northwest of the Gaujac estate campground. Less than 25 minutes are enough to reach the small town of the Cévennes. From the campsite, join Gaujac by the Chemin de la Madeleine and then the Chemin du Colombier. Turn left on the D366 to reach Anduze. Cross the bridge at Anduze to cross the west bank of the Gardon and then turn right to continue on the D907. Stay on the D907 to Saint-Jean-du-Gard. The route follows the course of the Gardon de Saint-Jean.
